Default What is your favorite constellation?

I have found that each season has a constellation which has become some kind of favorite.
In spring it´s definiteley Ursa Major. Many years ago this was the first constellation I recognized in the sky. I was surprised by its big size. The key to find it was simply to look "bigger". Using its stars as pointers in different directions I was able to find Polaris right away and could make out many more constellations in one single night. From there it started!
Nowadays Ursa Major is still a spring favorite. From the galaxies in this constellation I then go further south in the sky for hunting for more in "the realm of galaxies" in Canes Venatici, Coma Berenices and Virgo.
The summer favorite is somewhat hard to tell. On these latitudes the sky is too light and for a couple of months no stars can be seen. But in August I always look up to Deneb and know that soon I can begin to scan the nebulae and star fields of Cygnus and the Milky Way.
When autumn arrives the celestial region of Andromeda/Pegasus has my attention, with objects from the splendid M31 to the very faint Stephans Quintet.
In winter Orion is truly beautiful. Just like the stars in Ursa Major the three stars in Orions belt have been the pointers for finding constellations in the southern sky when travelling to warmer lands.
What is your favorite constellation and why?

I also like Cygnus.. My favorites are the ones I can identify best in my crappy LP.. So Cassiopeia is great, and of course Ursa Major... I like being able to recognize them wherever I go (well, almost wherever...)

Orion. It has so much stage presence. It just dominates the sky when it is out.

I agree. It's also one of the only constellations Imo (other then ursa major/minor) that really resembles the image of its namesake.
