Default do you listen to ipod/music/radio while stargazing?

Sometimes, when I am stargazing alone I listen to my iPod. What I listen to varies depending on my mood. Most often I listen to soundtracks, the one from Apollo 13 is one of my favorites.

Does anyone else ever do this?

What's your favorite star related music?

I never thought about it so I wouldn't mind trying having my music with me.

However I've also enjoyed the quiet night too as its also relaxing. Listening to your surroundings makes you enjoy being outside.

Out at a dark site, if I'm alone, whatever talk radio station is coming in clearly that night. Just never Coast2Coast AM, which is either ridiculous or totally freaky. It keeps the critters away. At home on my backyard slab I usually don't play anything. I just enjoy the night.

iPod through cheap speakers when I'm alone at a dark site. Hopefully it helps keep critters away. Makes it less lonely too.

I listen to Pandora. You can change themes to match your mood. It does make it seem less lonely. I don't know that it's "star related" but I like Jimmy Buffett. :-)

Depending on my mood, there are times that I listen to the soundtrack around me provided by nature, but occasionally, the blue tooth headphones go on and I listen to the iPhone.

    Loreena McKennit
    Enya
    Paul McCartney - Standing Stones
    Lord of the Rings soundtracks
no name instrumental tracks (stargazing, zen garden, etc,)

At home I stream my library through Audiogalaxy - usually mellower music than what I listen during the day. If the wife is with me, then no music, just chatter.

Sometimes I listen to some of William Herschel's symphonies - I try to imagine what he'd think of modern times and what I'd think of living in his times.
