Default Suggestions for How to Tote a Scope

I recently purchased my first telescope, a Celestron NexStar 6SE. It is "only" 30 pounds, but it is a cumbersome, unwieldy 30 pounds. When you add to it the sack that includes my power source (not negligible weight), extra eyepieces, flashlights, levels, cords, etc., the pile gets to be a bit much for this aging and decrepit body. Sometimes I get lucky and can drive right up to an observing spot. Other times however, I am forced to cart everything over hill and dale to get there. Any suggestions or brilliant ideas from folks who think they have solved this problem?

Get a nice pack pack, one that distributes weight and has comfortable straps. The telescope, mount, eyepieces, and accessories will easily fit inside it. Lash the tripod to the back of the back pack. Use a ten AA battery pack with 10 NiMH batteries for your power supply; about the size of a pack of cigarettes and good for 3 to 4 hours. Put the back pack on your back, and grab your observing chair in one hand and you can easily move about. That's what I do with my C6S on a SkyWatcher AZ goto mount and my 4SE when I go up the mountain side to a dark spot one km away and I've done 70 orbits around the sun. Don't like the idea of the NiMH batteries, then use the other hand to carry your power pack.

I've toyed with the idea of building a travois to take my scope further than the 30 feet from my car to my usual setup spot. I currently do 5 trips back and forth at about 40 pounds a trip. The poles needed to build the travois could be attached to the luggage rack of my car.
