Default What was the First DSO You Ever Saw Through Your Scope?

Since I got my Dob I always would look at the moon (if it was out), Saturn, Mars and a few bright stars. But the other night even though the moon was out and very bright in the night sky I decided to try and star hop. After minutes of searching I found M13 and M92, the night conditions weren't the best and they were alittle faint ..but what a sight! I have to get out there and search for more!

I got my scope in January last year, so of course my first DSO was M42. It's the law.

Mine was M3. A tougher one for a noob, for sure, and I got lucky. Oddly enough, I turned my attention there because I couldn't find M13!

In my first real full night out, I think I picked up M13 and M51. M51 was probably my best that evening.

M42 also for me, i found it by mistake i had no idea what it even was until i learned the sky a bit better, i first saw it in my 60mm refractor and it looked stunning, when i saw it when i got my 130mm it was amazing.

out of the 40 objects ive seen so far only M8 rivals it but its much smaller but still as stunning.
