My SMH moments are when Spousal Overunit admonishes me not to stay up late to observe...but nary a peep from her when I have to get up early to prepare breakfast and pack lunches for the kids, nor those times she stays up late to read or watch TV...

My wife likes the photography part and I like the learning about the universe type so we make a good team. A lot harder now with 9 month old twins.

My wife doesn't care at all about astronomy. I ONCE convinced her to look at Saturn. Zero interest.

I am very lucky in this regard. My wife owns her own telescope (an Astroscan), binoculars, charts and she plans her own star hops. In addition to the telescopes, we do a lot of binocular astronomy and verbally guide each other on our latest binocular star hop.

Our observing duet has gotten considerably more harmonized this year now that we each have binoculars with an identical FOV.

    MMM
    Mine is normally
"Its cold outside, your going to get sick"
"Its so late already(8pm) im going to bed and i Miss you"- Have to clarify she is pregnant and must have been a bear in her previous life as winter makes her hibernate
"Do you really need to put the scope "THERE""

She got me my first scope and will look thru the eyepiece every now and then when its not cold.

My wife likes to come out and look at what she considers the more interesting objects, those being the planets of course, most notably Saturn. Big shocker right? As far as star clusters and nebula's, she's less interested to the point that she won't even look if I mention it. I don't complain though as she doesn't gripe too much about how much I spend as long as she's aware of what I'm buying.

I give my wife a choice. Would she rather have me out all night in some bar schlepping beers and watching the ballgame, or would she rather have me out all night in the backyard with my scope so she can come out and ask me why the objects I'm imaging all look the same. She prefers the latter.
