    Exclamation Mountain Lion Repellant?

Last night I went to a spot near a neighboring townhome with my binoculars.
Looked around, but the moose who comes every spring was not around and have not seen her for a while. Sometimes a bull moose is with her.
I spread my foam pad on the sidewalk by the river where a spruce blocks the light coming from a neighbor's place and laid down on it.
While quietly watching the stars I started to feel a bit uncomfortable.
Saw a mountain lion about a mile and a half from this spot three years ago.

Wondering whether a portable radio playing some of the bad pop music might keep hungry critters away.

Plan to set the telescope that has been shipped to me up at this spot

Anyone know of an effective mountain lion and bear repellant?

Maybe if you wore something like this while observing? Might not repel, but could come in handy if attacked.

I find that eating plenty of garlic before going out seems to work for lions as I see none around at night or day. Keeps vampires and vamps away too and does a reasonable job for mosquitoes. Must also work for elephants too as I haven't seen any around either. Jackals ... they eat anything so it does not work for them. Bears, they too like most anything.

Haven't seen one of these big kitty cats in a while. We did have one out at China Lake who used to keep one of the range guards imprisoned within his guard shack from time to time. The cat liked to sleep on the warm hood of the guard's truck. One night the guard tried to shoo the cat away .... actually admitted to walking over to the truck, stomping his foot on the ground and yelling and waving at the lion. The cat told him no in no uncertain terms .... the guard retreated with now stained trousers back into his shack.

I guess I will play the straight man here! In the case of bear, moose, etc., guess you could check into this:

Mountain Lion Urine Pest Repellent 8 oz at YardLover.com

However, it might incur the wrath of another mountain lion!

Here is a a blurb about using pepper spray for mountain lions:

Will pepper spray repel a mountain lion? | OutsideOnline.com

Here's another one about using bear spray for mountain lions:

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks :: Using Bear Pepper Spray to Deter Mountain Lions

Hope something in all that is helpful.

Taking a dog along is my favorite of the suggestions.
Have a schnauzer that I bought because he is related to a great dog I had.
He is a dimwit. A bark collar did not shut him up.
Would be a perfect catamount snack.
