    I am not so sure this is a "completely" new discovery.

    We can already SEE bubbles of gas clouds (a rounded shock wave) extending out from distant galaxies caused by the jet the black hole at their center is generating.

    The article did not give enough information to determine if this is what they are seeing or if it is different.

    Yup. In 2012 Andromeda's core will line up with our galactic bubbles, and the resulting overpressure will cause both galaxies to disassociate and be destroyed.
