    Default Star parties

I would love to attend a star party, but having trouble finding one in my area. Can anyone tell me how I might to be able to find one? Spend most nights looking by myself (which is a good thing most of the time, can't never seem to find enough quiet time sometimes). Would just like to go to one. I know I could learn a thing or two from other people. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for star parties in northeast Tennessee or western North Carolina.

Same situation in North Georgia. The closest active Astronomy Club is about 50 miles away and honestly not much of an astronomy club.

Thanks for the input folks. The list shows East Tennessee State University. I am actually doing some work in the building that houses the planetarium. Maybe one day I can catch the professor in the building and speak to him.

I have also tried contacting the Bays Mountain astronomy club. Can't get no one to return my messages. Guess I will keep trying.

@oldblue: If that professor is anything like the ones I know, you'll have trouble getting him to stop talking to you about astronomy ! I'll bet if you express an interest to him (or her !), you'll wind up getting a grand tour and will learn more than you ever thought!
I wish I was working in that building. Let us know how it goes !

Hoping to run into him real soon. Summer break is going on right now, but have met all but him.

They also have an observatory with three scope if i am not mistaken. I saw a schedule of events that is open to the public. Going to try to look into some of these also.
