Default Hey everyone, another complete newbie!!

    Hi AF!!

My partner and I have recently decided to take the plunge and get our first telescope! We have always been very interested in Astrology but thought the hobby would be really expensive..but then we saw the Skywatcher Skymax 127 and decided to save for it! So do excuse my newbie questions, no doubt I'll learn a lot from you all! I know my username is a bit mad, but my main hobby is herpetoculture and thought it was pretty cool that there were reptile genera and constellations sharing the same latin

    See you around

Welcome to the forums and the hobby!
If you are deadset on getting a goto scope that scope will be ok for visual observing, but the goto can be cumbersome for beginners. (I know I couldn't handle it it got so fustrating.)
I do recommend a dobsonian mount (This may be a bias) but they are so easy to use, easy to set up no messing around with alignment, just grab a star map and most of the dobs already include a finder or a red dot. For the money you are spending on the sky watcher you could get an 8 or 10 inch dobsonian which you could see so many more things with

But welcome to the forums again
