Well Howdy and Welcome Soupy ... lots of good buys depending on what it is you want to do ... tell us a little more about what it is you are interested in and what your budget looks like and we'll all chime in with some handy suggestions to really confuse the issue ... lol ...

Hi soupy ...Welcome aboard the forums ... What are you intrested in looking at astronomy wise ? ....... You know there is not an everything scope , What i mean is some scopes are good for looking at the moon and planets and others would be better for looking at deep sky objects , while others would be suited for looking at star clusters .... Oh yea ..One more thing , how much do you want to spend on a scope ???

Welcome, HotSoup. Whichever scope you get, the moon is easy to view. Scopes do vary in their properties, though, so ask questions and read up to make the best selection.

    Hi, HotSoup!

Welcome to our merry band. You'll find some great guys on here. My two cents worth, and worth every penny you are paying for it is "Astronomy Club". Get in on some meetings, attend a star party or two, then make your choice based on some personal experience. Get a scope you have some confidence you will enjoy for some time rather than shoot from the hip. You know the saying, "Act in haste, repent at leisure"? It applies .

    Again, welcome and Clear Skies!
