    Default Hello From Minnesota

    Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to telescopes but a long time follower of astronomy. I took a couple college classes in astronomy a couple years ago and that renewed my interest. I finally got a telescope after years of eyeing them.

I was lucky the first night I had my scope, I got clear skies. I was disappointed the moon didn't come up until the early morning hours. However, the first point I trained my eye on was Saturn. It was great. I could see the rings and some light reflecting from the moons.

I am looking forward to more great nights this summer.

Since I didn't want to spend a large amount of money for how much I was really going to be using it, I purchased an Astromaster 90EQ.

Welcome to the forum, it is nice to have another member from this neck of the woods (although minnesota is a big state, so maybe you're not as close as I think). At any rate, welcome.

Not that far at all then. I live in East Central South Dakota. We get up to the cities a couple of times a year; usually to see the Beloved Twins (who won last night, by the way).

I know a few folks from that area. I have some family that lives fairly close to South Dakota.

I saw that Twins game, It was very entertaining. I was at the Angels games Sunday, another great game. I was lucky and got to sit in an infield suite just to the right of homeplate.
Astromaster 90EQ. Started observing April 2009. Looking to expand.
