Default All The Gear - No Idea

    Hello everyone.

I was lucky enough to be given a Nexstar 5SE for my birthday a few years ago. It did the job and really sparked an interest in astronomy so I recently bought myself a (used) CPC 1100 - it’s a beast!

Ultimately I want to get into astrophotography but in the short-term, I’m enjoying just looking around the night sky. Recommendations on eyepieces, add-ons and anything that will help me get the most out my new toy would be appreciated.

Home is Northampton so looking forward to getting out into some (near) dark sky areas soon.

Hello and welcome to the forums

Do you have any eyepieces besides what is supplied with them at the moment?
A SCT will work well for planetary/ lunar imaging and some brighter deep sky objects but is to narrow a field of view and too long a focal length for imaging faint objects.
