Red face Thanks for the add and looking forward to learning a lot here.

So at 70 years old, I have decided to take up an old hobby I had 58 years ago. I had a 3" reflector scope that had a cardboard tube and began to droop after a year on its wooden tripod. For the better part of two Winters, my buddy down the street and I spent many cold nights out exploring the Universe. He had a reflector scope, so we had all the bases covered. I had one of the grandsons in a Hobby Town store a few weeks ago and had a Celestron 125 grab me by the leg. With no research, I purchased it. When I saw the rings of Saturn for the first time, that was it! Two weeks of research and I'm now learning how to use my new Orion xt10g. I'll need some help from this forum, I know, and it looks like folks here are all about helping.

Welcome! I had the opportunity to take an early retirement this year, and bought a telescope. I had an astronomy class as a freshman in college (many years ago) but never had the time to explore this hobby until now. I have a lot to learn and this website is a good place to start.

Hi Rmdigby. We're all happy to have you aboard here. And that was a very nice introduction from you too. Congratulations on the new XT10g telescope Rmdigby, and welcome to the forum, and I hope to see you on TSS too.
