Default Hello from down under :-)

    Hey all,

I'm Justin from New Zealand - although I'm actually an ex-pat former inhabitant of the UK.

I'm a senior IT engineer for one of the largest public health organisations in the country and I have a weakness for buying stuff from thrift stores and recycle shops.

Today I found a 5 inch reflector scope on an old wooden tripod, complete with EQ mount, clockwork motor, finder scope, but missing the eyepiece. I have no idea what model of scope I have, so I posted in the Beginners forum to see if I can get help with an ID for this thing.

Look forward to learning more about telescopes and astronomy in general as the two have always been of interest to me.

    Cheers

Hey thanks for the welcomes. After a bit more research I think I have a Tasco 'lunagrosso' 11T with clock drive. I'm a bit confused about the size though because mine seems to be 5 inch not 4.5
