I followed this thread to this point and I am looking forward to your first light report, subsequent follow up reports on how you are getting along with your new equipment and your journey into the world of backyard amateur astronomy.

Thanks, Randy. First light (I'm assuming that's the first time you point a new scope into the heavens, right?) should be in an hour or so. It's all assembled, I adjusted the finder scope (Telrad) to match the scope, and am just waiting for it to get dark enough to see something. Anything. ;-)

First Light was pretty much a dud. Saw some bright spots, and that’s about it.

However, a couple of books arrived today that may give some direction for future sessions.
