    Default Hello!

    Hello!

I have been hoping to get into astronomy for a long time and never had the funds to buy myself a telescope however my wife got me one this Christmas and i have had quite a few cold nights out in the garden looking around and thought that it's time to get to know some professionals for advice and conversation! Since Christmas i have been mostly concentrating on the moon, especially with the brilliant supermoon the other day (i read that the eclipse wouldn't happen in the UK). However the night before last i managed to see Betelguese, Sirius and the seven sisters, i have also been trying to learn the constellations.

I have a Celestron Astromaster 114eq and only have 2 lenses at the moment: 10mm and 20mm. I have read that there are more out there however when i look at them i've noticed this is a bit like computer consoles, people will leave negative reviews just because the company is different than one they like so i'm hoping to get some decent advice on here!

Looking forward to getting involved in the forums to build on my new hobby!!!!
