    Default Hello World

    Hi all,

I'm new to having a telescope although I've always been interested in it to a degree. I just never found the time / money, or made it a priority, or whatever. As a father of a little one that seems very interested in the planets, and as fate would have it I'm directly in the path of totality from my home for the upcoming eclipse, I decided to use those reasons as my excuse to buy a nice used telescope LX200 10". (I have a friend in the hobby as well so I'm not totally overwhelmed). Now I'm looking for my first good eyepiece. I suspect good eye relief will help my child (as well as myself) so that is something I'm considering. I'm also considering an eyepiece in the 12-17mm range. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (I have a 2inch diagonal although I'm not sure how much that is needed at that power).

I'll be checking out the boards.

Thanks, it's good to be here.

The weakest link in the optical chain is the large nut located directly behind the eyepiece/ camera. - Gabrielle
