Hello, and welcome to the forum!

I am not an expert on binoculars. But, from the little I know, the advice sounds pretty solid. If you can, you might want to invest in a folding lawn lounge chair to let you lay back and survey the sky with your binoculars.

Hi Waqas. It's great to have you join us. And, congratulations on the Skymaster 15x70 binoculars. I really enjoy mine, but because they are fairly heavy, after a while of use I have to prop myself up against my pickup truck. An alternative is a heavy duty tripod, or a spring loaded parallelogram mount. And, hang on to those binoculars, as even after you purchase a telescope, they still come in quite handy. Welcome to the forum Waqas, and the best of wishes for many clear night skies.

    Thanks everyone for the welcome!

@rickg18704, I see a few good deals right now, what would you recommend? Bunshell Falcon 7x35, Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 or the Gordon 10x50. All of these are within a $5 range for me currently. The 15x70 is really really heavy like I can't hold it steady for two seconds. The object is like bobbing in my view even though i am a bulky guy. Not strong in arms I guess. So I am ordering a tripod adapter as I do have a tripod. So I was thinking to go even lower like 7x35 instead so that i have a reasonable handheld experience. The Celestron 10x50 for example (from product description) is close to the weight of 15x70. But Bunshell 7x35 is half its weight.

@David57 yes it does seem after searching internet that there is a local club that has like $15 annual joining fee. Will definitely join as soon as I can point 5 objects (other than the moon) in the sky . I can point out venus these days... so that's a start.

@Dragonsfire yeah I already installed Stellarium. But right now I ordered the very basic books, The Stars, and Find the Constellations. I am also going through https://openstax.org/details/books/astronomy. As far as I have understood Turn Left at Orion is a bit advanced?

@Makuser I can't hold mine steady for two seconds. So a tripod is next for me.
