Yes, I investigated TAAA a while back. I'm just not a real "active" observer anymore. I love to sit on my patio and look, but I rarely even get my binocs out. But who knows. I remember when I first got my scope I would stay out all night, Friday night and Saturday night, and sleep in Saturday and Sunday. Drove my first wife crazy.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Not only do you have Kitt Peak an hours drive away, you also have Mt Lemon and Starizona right there in town. We hope you'll contribute to the forums regularly.

    Clear skies,

Hi and Welcome to the Forums! That scope is a genuine piece of astronomical history - don't get rid of it, and enjoy the clear, dark skies.

Hello Hawk, and welcome to the forum!

I've been contemplating a future move the south west myself. Been browsing some areas around southern NM. Planning to take a trip out this summer.

I'm one of the guys BobDob warned you about

I am embarrassed that I missed your post and no one else from Tucson has chimed in yet, so welcome to the forum. I belong to a very informal, small (3-5), retired or close to retirement group of amateurs here. If you are interested in meeting up with us sometime to see if we are a good fit send me a PM.

We really do have the best skies here.
