Default I'm new to Astronomy, just bought a basic telescope..hi everyone

It's nice to meet you all! I am completely new to this but looking forward to learning about this interesting hobby. I have a very basic telescope, haven't figured out how to adjust all the dials on it yet (equatorial mount, Rokinon brand, model DB1141EQ1 focal length is 1000). I know it's not the best scope but it's the best I could afford for now, like it anyways, will learn on it. I bought some books (Backyard Astronomer's Guide and Nightwatch) and am wading in! I look forward to reading and learning on this forum

Hello Carolyn. I hope you have a lot of fun with your new scope. You will find answers to any questions you may have about your scope on here. Many users here possibly have a the same scope, or one just like it branded under a different name/model number. Oh, and my cat Tiggy says hello to your cats. Tiggy (the little tiger) always lays on my desk next to me, while I am on the computer. He is an orange and white tabby. Welcome to the forum, and kindest regards,
    - Marshall
