Default Hi! New to forum, new to telescopes and new to everything astronomy.

    Hi everyone,

I hope to get to know you guys soon an become an expert in using my new used telescope.

I live in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. It is about 45 minutes west of Winnipeg, MB. I have a 17 acre property with good night skies.

I picked up a used Meade LX10 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a selection of eyepieces and a few camera attachment pieces and a few I don't know what they do.

I've been reading up on scope alignment and setup. I think I have a handle on it and just need to get out of mosquito season and dark skies at 2300 hrs.

I would like to get the ability and skill to start some basic astro-photography. That is coming but not now.
