Welcome aboard, Charlie!
Depending on your scope, you should be able to purchase a t-ring & t-ring adapter for your camera. These items will enable you to hook up your camera to your scope.
If you just want to try REALLY BASIC "night sky" photography, before you buy more scope gear, then you can simply place your new camera on a good steady tripod, set the camera settings for "long exposure", like maybe 5-7 seconds, aim the camera UP, and take a couple pictures. See what happens, and see which times work best! (example: 5sec, 6sec, 7sec, 8sec) I have some really cool shots of Orion that I did last Winter by shooting that way...Came out really nice! And it's super easy to do!
Just make sure you use the camera's built in TIMER (10 seconds), or, get yourself a good Remote Cable for your camera. You don't want ANY movement on that tripod when you shoot...obviously. Anyway, those remote-cables are dirt cheap, and worth their weight in gold!!! I think I paid $15 or $20 bucks for mine????....Worth every penny!!! Even "I" could afford one! LOL![]()
