Hello & welcome from South-east Ohio! Nothing more I can add that the others haven't said but definitely take your time. When looking for a telescope, figure in additional cost for: good lenses if you want to view, type of mounts if you want to do astrophotography, portability if you need that, and if motor driven - type of additional power supplies.
As an example, I have a NexStar 6SE and for the SE series you definitely don't want to run it on just the AA batteries.
