    Default Greetings from Michigan

    Hi all,

I'm from central Michigan, had an interest in Astronomy as a kid but drifted away. I've got 2 boys now, 2 y.o. and newborn and a great wife. I finally have some free time again and would like to start the learning curve for backyard Astronomy. By the time my kids are old enough to (hopefully) have interest I'd like to be able to teach them a few things. After 15+ years in research I'm switching to the CPA path, and I need some scientific stimulus in my life! I have a Z10 on the way and can't wait for it to arrive. Project 1 will be an equitorial platform, I'll have lots of questions

Look forward to conversing with you all.

    Andrew

Andrew, welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you are getting into backyard astronomy. That's kind of where many of us do our thing, especially if getting to dark skies is a problem. Scope technology and filtering has advanced so much over the years that one can do quite a bit from the confines of their own property. Let us know how we can help.
