Default Just a quick hello to you all

    Hey everyone

thought I would say hello and introduce myself, my names Peter, i'm 27 and i'm from Manchester... or rainchester, England. Always been interested in space... never invested in a telescope until recent, now i'm wishing i'd got one a long time ago, but better late than never

Pretty lucky in regards to my telescope, I live near Stockport telescopes and the owner seems legitimately there to help rather than make a quick buck and got me started with a Sky Watcher 130 (I do plan to upgrade soon though)

I really only got a telescope for observation at first tbh and didn't really have any interest in photography, but I used a little digital camara I had, held it up to the eye piece and got a picture of the moon... nothing amazing but it impressed me loads hahaha

thanks to you all, I tried to get another shot last night with my DSLR, but it clouded over before I had chance to attach the camara

I did get to show a friend the moon through my telescope, he'd never seen one and he did the standard reaction, looked through the eye piece... paused for a moment, looked again... paused and said "that's amazing, it doesn't look real", haha then looked up at the moon like it was the first time he'd proper looked at it

which I always think is awesome, the moon has been there 25 years of his life, but all it took was one glance at it with a bit of magnification to really appreciate it
