Unhappy Banned because of message about new version of astro freeware software

I have posted today about a new version of my new freeware software. Somehow I'm now totally banned without any explanation or feedback.

I have programmed and distributed my free astro software for 23 years now. Never charged any dollar for it and made many users happy.

Does this mean that philanthropic freeware programmers are not allowed to post anything about their freeware work in this forum? Alternatively not even in the vendor forum see remarks below?

    Default Vendors PLEASE READ!!!!

NOTE: AstronomyForum.net is no longer accepting new vendors. If you are a vendor please refer to the following information from our Forum TOS (terms of service).

    Vendors and Advertising:

If you are the principal, shareholder or employee of a company that sells astronomy-related products you are welcome to participate, but you must not use this forum as a form of free advertising of any products that you handle. Moreover, you must not use this forum as a platform to downgrade or denigrate any of your competitors’ products.

The term Vendor refers to any person who sells a product, or offers a product for sale, or who has their product offered for sale by a third party

The term advertising refers to any form of advertising which includes any links in the text body of a post, and also any links in a user's signature, or embedded links in photographs, diagrams etc that lead to any web site that is a point of sale, for those or other products offered by the user

Basically we will not permit anyone to use Astronomy Forum.net as a place to advertise anything for their personal gain.

You may, however, use a watermark in any photographs, artwork etc to establish your copyright, but the actual photograph, artwork, diagram etc must not direct link to a point of sale or website that offers that photograph, art work etc for sale.

Hello Han, if you read the Terms Of Service for the site you will see that any new member is not to post software links in first postings.
They may have been removed due to this.
You must have a minimum of 50 posts in the open forums. You can read the requirements in the TOS which is linked under my signature.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact myself or another member of the moderator team.

I was allowed to enter links after 5 post. That was not the problem. But they have now totally banned my other account "han.k" see below.

    Questions:

    1) Which forum to use for an announcement for freeware software and request for feedback?

    2) Can you lift the ban for "han.k" ?

    3) Is it now 5 or 50 posts? The TOS and forum behavior says 5, your reply says 50.

You have been banned for the following reason:
Pushing product. Effectively a vendor with prohibited behavior.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I assume the reward for writing "excellent" freeware is being banned as a vendor.

Default Re: Banned because of message about new version of astro freeware software

    From the TOS:
Due to the growing amount of false accounts and promotion of stores, and products including computer and tablet software (programs, applications, apps, etc.) we have had to take action to preserve our forum as an honest ground for discussion, and opinion. Also a growing trend exists where people join the forum only to mine it for information for software development for commercial or personal usage (free or otherwise). We have had new members join without introduction, and without any discussion on the forum discuss a vendor or store, whether positive or negative. We also have had fake accounts generated to promote a store or product, and also had links to stores in posts where they were clearly off the topic of the thread eg. discussion of craigslist ad or used telescope and user links to store X to suggest purchase there instead.

As such we have had to include several new rules:

    1) New users must be trusted (i.e over 20 posts) in order to post links to stores or commercial products and have made an introduction in the welcomes forum.

So 20+ posts instead of the 50 I stated. The paragraph of the TOS you reference is not from the section about distribution of software.

Thanks for the info. Still it not fully clear.

    1) Can I announce a new version of my own freeware software after 20 posts? It is not clear in above TOS and new Vendors (I'm not) are not accepted. I don't want to be totally banned again.
    2) If so at which forum?
    3) Can you remove the ban on the account "han.k" . It is linked to my preferred email address.

The ban has been lifted on the other account, I will go back in a while and ban the new han.k2 account.
The moderator team is still discussing the software links at the moment so cannot say anything on that at the moment.

My second simple post of 3 or 4 lines without any link "didn't pass our moderation review" of the software forum. I gave up on this forum. Admin wrote in the sticky thread:

Please feel free to discuss any skymap, astrophotography, planetarium or similar software here.
This doesn't seem the case anymore.
