    Default You must wait...

Ive been getting this error message lately when responding to posts with the quick reply.

"You must wait 30 seconds between posts" or something like that. Fair enough except I only responded once. Click the submit button one time and I get that error.

Been seeing a few double posts from others lately and wonder if they might be having the same issue.

Quirks of the forum software. It rears it's ugly head from time to time. You can get around it by using the "Go Advanced" button in lieu of the quick reply.

It's been a few months since the forum experienced any down time. We might be getting really for one of these episodes soon. If the server gets rebooted, we should run nice and clean again for a while. Just my speculation of course...

Hi UM and Bryan. I think that you are right about it being time for a reboot of the forum server again soon Bryan. I am finding that I have to use my work around to eliminate double posting more and more frequently the last week or so. Until then, we just keep plodding along and hope for the best.

Ah glad to see I was not the only one. I did double post one time before I figured out what was going on. Thanks!

Hi UM. Well, here is the double post workaround that I have used for a year and a half now. It worked with my older XP computer using the Chrome browser, and this XP computer using the Firefox browser. I use the "quick reply", and when I hit the post button and get the "stay on page" and "leave page", I know that I am being "set up" for a double post. So, I click the "stay on page" and then I highlight my text and next "cut" the text, and then hit reply. I know that this makes no sense (posting an empty text box), but it works. I then see my post on the thread. However, this has been happening a lot for the last two weeks or so. There is also another problem. When I do this, I have had 3 or 4 occasions lately, where I am then presented with the "edit post" screen. Do not click on the save button. but ignore it, and click on your user name (profile) button at the top right of your screen. You should then see your new post at the top of your list. And, if you don't get a post at all (which has never happened to me), you can always go back to the original thread and start over. Remember that the cut function also copies, so you can just paste your original text and not have to retype everything again. I hope that this helps UM, and to all who look at this tread.
