Default Is Forum having issue updating Recently Updated marking in Forum Thread Lists ??

It seems that for the past 2-3 days, the Forum Thread Lists are having problems with updating the markings for "Recent Unread Posts" (Bolded Threads). In many cases, even after I have just read the latest Posts in a Thread and then return to the Forum Listing Page, that Thread will still be Bolded as if indicating that there are New Posts to be read when there aren't. This even happens when I post a response to a Thread, and upon returning to the Forum Listing Page see that same Thread still Bolded - even though my latest Post details are included in that listing.
I've also noticed that the same New Posts Highlighting routine seems to clear (unbold) the "New Posts" flag from threads which have been updated after the last time that I visited AF.net - it appears to maybe have something to do with a daily or 24hr elapsed time cycle.

As far as I know, it has always done that. I do not know the temporal resolution of the timestamps stored in your browser's cookies, but whatever the resolution is, they are not very exact. The cookies can distinguish what you read yesterday from what you read today, but are not very good at distinguishing what you read an hour ago from what you might read tomorrow.

    C'est la vie.

Default Re: Is Forum having issue updating Recently Updated marking in Forum Thread Lists ??

Actually, my experiences have always been the Opposite. I've always previously been able to rely upon the New Posts markings in the Forum Listings.

I've been able to "Walk the list of New Postings" after being away for only a few minutes (actually while writing a single Response posting) or being away over a Long Weekend at a Star Party or AP Imaging Dark Site.

Now, new Posts remain highlighted after I have just read them, and Threads which have been updated Overnight since I last visited AF.net are NOT...

It could be some unfortunate Cookie Policy Change on my Laptop - Anti-Virus Updates have a tendency to not be too Transparent or seek Permission for such Changes. But I was looking to find whether others have been experiencing similar "downgraded" functionality of late...
