    Default ETX70: power supply, 12V?

I have seen some one in this forum mention using 12V as power supply for ETX70 instead of original 9V. Does that pose any problems for the scope / motor. Is it full 12V without using a step down?

I have actually tried 8.5V (2 X 18650 batteries). It seems to have worked fine. I don't know if it still would work when the voltage drops to the low of the batteries, 7.4V. Would 3X18650= almost 13V be ok too?

    thanks.

From my research from about a year ago, the general consensus was yes. However, I found it was much simpler to just buy a power adapter for about $30. This also improved its performance. Let me know if you want more details.
