Default ETX 70AT secondary mirror jammed

While flipping the secondary mirror from up to rear, the mirror became jammed in the open to rear position. It looks like the same problem noted years ago with a metal piece blocking the rotation of a plastic piece. One solution posted was to remove the metal.

Do I have to disassemble the optical tube or can I push the piece out of the way? Tried the latter but the mirror still won’t budge. Any help appreciated.

To fix it properly, you will have to disassemble it. Without the spring loaded lever, the mirror will be loose. I have not done this myself. I would probably try to just remove it and use a diagonal.
