Default How do I view the street names in the newest version of Google Earth?

I just barely downloaded the most recent version of google earth, but the street names don't appear! And yes, I have clicked on the "roads" selection in the "layers tab. All that does is highlights the roads, but it doesn't show the names of the roads! Help! I need to see the street names!
