Default NASA spots mysteriuos "dragon" aurora in the sky over Iceland

NASA released a spectacular image of a huge "dragon" aurora charging quietly across the night sky over Iceland. The natural phenomenon is caused by particles emanating from the Sun that collide with Earth's atmosphere to put on a gorgeous light show. The human mind has a tendency to make sense of things by interpreting them as recognisable objects. We see various patterns and shapes in the clouds and stars for example. It's always interesting when these really are close to real things.

This auroral snake image was posted on Twitter recently.

(Trying to upload image. Will try again later.)
