Default What do you think about the BUSHNELL VOYAGER 78-8000 8" DOBSONIAN Telescope?

It's cheap for the size, why?

Bushnell isn't know for high quality optics. Meade is good (well, they have good, and they have cheap), but overpriced (IMHO). If you want something that is reasonably priced and good quality, I'd recommend looking at Celestron. http://www.celestron.com/ Just my $.02 worth.

PS: Pay attention to the focal ratio (f/5, f/11, etc.). Generally speaking, the lower the number, the more light it lets in, thus the more (distant & faint) objects you can see.

Unless you're going to mount it on a gun and use it as a sight I wouldn't buy it from Bushnell...

A better choice would be to buy one from a recognized provider of astronomy related items... I like Orion and have included the link below...
