Default 6 inch compared to 10 inch

Wondering what else I would be able to view with a 10 in Skyliner compared to my 6 inch? I'm tempted to upgrade!
Is the Bresser better than the Skywatcher, the mount is different.

The difference would be significant...SIGNIFICANT. The Skywatcher is nice, can't speak for the Bresser.

What he said.... If it is practical to stretch for 12" consider it. But 10" is a very striking difference!

A 10 inch scope will gather approximately 3 times as much light as a 6 inch - So the difference will be extremel

Absolutely you will notice the difference. Moving from a 6 inch to a 10 inch give you a little over one magnitude of additional reach, which opens up a huge number of DSO possibilities over the 6 inch. You will also significantly increase your resolution of fine detail. If you went to 12 inches those gains would increase slightly over the 10 inch, but the weight and bulk of the 12 inch versus the 10 inch is quite noticeable.

One thing to consider is the weight difference. I've read of instances where some people have found the upgrade to a 12" was more than they could handle and ended up downgrading to a smaller more manageable size. I once considered upgrading from my 8" to a 10" but luckily got to see the two side by side first - I was quite shocked at the weight difference between the two and ended up not doing it with no regrets.

    Good luck!
