Don't forget - September is John Dobson month. In his memory, and as a way to show gratitude for his enormous contribution, why not take your Dob (I call mine a 'sidewalk scope' as John did) and do some real sidewalk astronomy? Yes, the light pollution is miserable - streetlights and porchlights and headlights, oh my! - but Saturn and the Moon and even the Great Galaxy in Andromeda show up. I spotted all of those magnificent heavenly bodies from a sidewalk just two nights ago, on International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) and offered the view to passers-by.

Share your 'scope and collect the Wows!
    Peace,
    -Dave
