Default New to the forum with a new Dob!

    Good day all,

I have just joined the Astronomy Forum and thought as an owner (almost!) of a new Dob the Dob forum would be a good place to stop by and say hi!

This week, two large boxes should arrive with my Skywatcher goto 16" Dob. Like a kid waiting for Christmas, I cannot settle... it's driving my wife to distraction!

Has anyone in the forum got a Skywatcher 16"? I' d be very happy to hear of experiences and any tips or tricks. I use Sky Safari on my IPad and IPhone - I intend to try Skyfi and see how that works as a system.

I'll post some images as soon as the 'scope arrives and try some lunar and planetary imaging later.

    Great to be on board!

    Ian

Welcome aboard Ian! I'm a tad jealous as I have a meager 10" Dob & no New Zealand skies. Welcome to the forum!

Hi and thank-you for the comment.

I have lived in NZ for 15 years and not a clear night passes when I have to pinch myself to check that I'm actually here! Although you can't move here now for Hobbits and Dwarves...

I intend to use my lightbucket every available night and enjoy every moment...

    Thanks again for the welcome!

Ian, I don't see where your question about Skyfi has been answered. If you do not get a reply on that point start another post in the bogginer's forum titled Skfi Question.

    Good luck.
