    Default V404 Cygnus has awakened

The large black hole/star system known as V404 Cygni has been stirring of late. See the below article (1st link) for more information about this interesting system. The second link are reported observations at the AAVSO site, which indicate it is currently around the brighter end of the 14th magnitude range. Challenging but not impossible for some. The third link is the chart from AAVSO, and note its position coordinates of RA 20:24:03.83 and DEC +33:52:02.2. Feel free to give it a shot if you are inclined. It appears to have a variable range between mag 11.2 to 18.8. So it might be worthwhile keeping an eye on this one.

Thanks for the article Alan. An interesting read and pretty exciting stuff.

Well, I've added this one to my list. I'll be keeping an eye on the the AAVSO site you linked to.

Lots and lots to do in Cygnus, whenever I can see it again.
