Terrible timing. Sort of. It will be clear tonight, but we got a foot of snow last night and it's about 5F with a wind chill of about -13. That's in the day time. I've got clothing to spend time outside in 32F (0C) weather, but not for as frigid as it is right now and it will be even worse once the sun goes down.

Looks like it's time to buy snow boots, pants, and a heavy jacket.

Oh yeah, I'm with dc on this one! My hands are still raw from being out there last night in this weather! Maybe in late February, after I get back from my ski trip, and have my Orion Astrograph, I'll see if there is anything to see.

Very cool. The weather here in Kankakee, Illinois is very cold and snowy. If there is a lull in this horrendous weather I'd like to give this one a shot. It crosses the meridian at about 0740 GMT at my location. Though, by then the moon will be 20 degrees above the horizon.

Oh my, that is a bright one! And I just took 20 minutes of exposure on M81/82 on Monday Night... I haven't processed or even looked yet, so I now can't wait to get home tonight and have a look. Danged work, it always interferes with my fun.
