    Default Comet C/2018 Y1 Iwamoto

Just a reminder that in the coming days, this comet will pass through Leo, north of Regulus and near Eta. Currently it is listed at about mag 8.5 so certainly should be observable by many if you stay up long enough, and have clear skies obviously. Also of interest might be that it will pass very near the bright galaxy NGC 2903 in Leo. Unfortunately for those in the U.S. that will occur during the daylight hours. But do watch as this one crosses Leo over the coming days.

Just a note that I pointed at this one a few days back. It was moving very slow and it was fairly dim. Unless it has brightened considerably, it might be rough. I'll try to post my 2-3 hour movie and point that way again tonight.

Apparently, Comet Iwamoto (C/2018 Y1) will make close approach to Earth on Feb 12th and 13th, around magnitude 6.5 in Leo. Will definitely try this if skies allow!
I hope our American and Canadian friends are not too cold at the momentM
