Default My First Scope has arrived.

My first scope arrived this morning it's an Astromaster 130 eq. I'm very pleased with the scope, it was very easy to set up and the mirrors are aligned perfectly. Looking forward to using it tonight.

I'll let you all know how I get on.

    Thumbs up

Congrats on the new scope. Mine arrived yesterday as well. Unfortunately, the skies have been overcast since Dec 28/09 here on the other side of the pond.

Waiting to hear about your first light report.

Hey Johnathan, a belated welcome. I missed your first post, buried as it was in the welcome thread. Is Hazel a Jack Russell?

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I've had a lot of GCSE exams this month.

It took about one week for the skies to clear and when they finally did the sight through the scope was spectacular. It took a little while to get to grips with the Eq mount but when I did it was really easy to view any thing.

I really have no idea what I viewed through the scope, to be honest I was so intrieged by the expirence that I forgot about every thing. I do recall looking at Diphda for about 10 minutes, hypnotised by its glare.

I do intend to keep a log book for what I see, which I will be starting next time I take the scope out (hopefully this weekend if it doesn't snow again). I'll let you know what I find.
Hazel is a Jack Russel she was two in the photo, she's now four.

    Clear skies to all.
