Default PC cable for Skyprodogy 130

Hi All, newbie so be gentle with me

I've just finished restoring this scope and would like to update the firmware. Is the cable from celestron a standard DB9 RS232 RJ11 or is the wiring layout different?

    Many thanks

I will take a look for you, do you have the manual?
If not it can be downloaded from the Celestron website.

If the mount is working properly do not do any updating.
Does your hand controller say Nexstar or Nexstar+ on it?

The first two cables shown on this page are the ones you need.
If you are handy with electronics/ soldering it is cheaper to build the cables yourself.

My Skyprodigy mount is one of the first and is not degradable due to the camera being different from subsequent versions (see post #9 here: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/5...pdate-problem/). See also https://www.nexstarsite.com/Firmware...gyFirmware.htm.

    Hi, thanks for the feedback

The handset has Star Sence printed on the front? Does it matter that this is a Skyprodogy or are they principally the same

So potentially just the handset then. Although once I get the chance to try the scope out I'll see if I need to update its firmware

    Thanks everyone

I think when I get the chance to see that it works ok first before I try and update it
