Default Anyone had this CGEM DX Error

I just went out to the OBS to fire up the scope and the hand controller is giving an error after trying to verify packages. It says Bootlog error: Invalid package 0002. Celestron tech support says to upgrade the mount and controller. Has anyone run into this error?

I havn't had it but seen someone else with it, well something like it as I don't remember the exact code error, it did say Bootlog error though. he said a HC and MC firmware reinstall solved it. Good luck.

Yes, That's a common error with the early production HC+ controllers. Any of the newer versions of CFM v.1.0.2xxx will fix the problem. Just use the CFM program to upgrade the HC+. The early versions do so automatically, but the latest version needs to be manually walked through the process.

Funny thing about that is Stan, it's a new controller.

Yes, The problem was with new controllers that had a problem from the factory. They were early release and there are still some showing up. What version is the controller that you have? Did you have any power interruption problems?

I downloaded CFM last evening and will try the updates tonight. No power interruptions and the Celestron Tech said they were not really sure why it even happens. He had one case where the client had just bumped the controller and had it go into a bootlog error. Simply odd, but fixable (I hope). I will report out when I do the upgrade.

Yes, the cause of the problem is still unknown, but it effects the EEPROM. It is fixable with the upgrade and the HC+ will operate flawlessly.
