Default EdgeHD 800 CGEM and making 1 1/4 filter work with my T-adapter

Anyone here have a Celestron EdgeHD and run into the below? Help me if so.

I did what I thought was appropriate homework before I bought my 1 1/4 filters for my EdgeHD 800 CGEM set-up.
(Celestron UHC/LPR Night Lighting Pollution Reducer Filter for Telescopes 1.25 inch Thread (1-1/4) and Celestron 93623 Narrowband Oxygen III 1.25 Filter )

See these picts, how does one make 1/4 filters fit in a tube that's about 1 5/8 in dia??

The filter will screw onto the conventional T-adapter, Celestron 93625 Universal 1.25-inch Camera T-Adapter , but for my EdgeHD 800 OTA they recommend using T-Adapter, (EdgeHD 8) (item #93644) / Photo & visual accessories / Accessories / Products / Celestron.com

There is NO WAY to attach it (sad and frustrated face)

Will I be able to use my standard Celestron SCT T-adapter 93633-A to attach my SLR camera to the EdgeHD?

    Answer
Yes, you can use your standard SCT T-adapter to connect your film or digital SLR to the New EdgeHD optical tube assemblies (OTAs).

However, the EdgeHD has been optimized for astrophotography at a specific spacing between the scope and the camera image plane.

To take full advantage of the EdgeHD’s photographic performance, use either the model #93644 (EdgeHD 8” OTA) or model #93646 (9.25, 11” and 14” OTAs) T-adapters, which are designed to position your camera's image plane at the optimal distance.

Each T-adapter is designed for the optimum distance.
That specific spacing is 133.35mm or 5.25" for the 8" EdgeHD OTA.
    For the 9.25", 11" and 14" OTAs it is 146mm or 5.75"

The same comments apply to other SCT OTA adapters such as radial guiders. They can be used with EdgeHD OTAs but weren't specifically designed for the EdgeHD series optimum distance.
In Celestrons own webpage under accys for that t-adapter they list the 1 1/4 filters!!
    T-Adapter, (EdgeHD 8) (item #93644) / Photo & visual accessories / Accessories / Products / Celestron.com

I have both, but since I bought the HD version for good pictures intent is use it of course.
LH is the "special" on for the EdgeHD, RH is the universal one.
You can see the special one is slightly longer, about 1/2" or so eyeballing it.

    Hi,
If you haven't resolved your issue with the filter by now, here is how I handle it on my Edge 800HD:

I use a 1.25" variable camera adapter. The adapter is threaded on one end for 1.25" filters (so the filter simply screws in to that end) and the other end is threaded to fit the T-Ring 'camera specific' adapter.

The 1.25" end simply fits into the visual back or into the 90* star diagonal.

Go to the Meade website and do a search for "variable projection camera adapter". (Sorry, can't post the URL until I complete 5 posts in the forum - forum rules)

This type of adapter is good for variable back-focus adjustments and also great for eyepiece projection photography. $50 well spent.

    Hope this helps.

    Tony
