Scott don't worry, things can only get better from here (weather and more!). Pierre and a few other users wear glasses, and can post a few tips

if you don't mind I will redirect this to the Celestron forum

hopefully we can get this sorted

I hear you. The first light with my Nexstar 4SE was a disaster. It was the first time I had ever even used a telescope. by the time I had set everything up, it was all covered in thick dew.

    Scott,
I am an eyeglass wearer, with considerable astigmatism. I purchased eyepieces with 18-20mm eye relief so they would work with my glasses. However, with the nearby streetlights, I usually remove my glasses and re-focus slightly. Placing the eye closer to the eyepiece eliminates some of the surrounding glare. Astigmatism has not been a problem, likely because I often use at least medium magnification which keeps exit pupil small and limits the affect of astigmatism.

Hope your next time is better,
    Jim

Hi from another eyeglass wearer with a slight case of astigmatism. The only time I wear my glasses is when I need to read the hand controller or when I am focusing for photography work. I hang some reading glasses from a string around my neck as I am constantly taking them on and off to read the hand controller.

Us old folks must look so silly doing the glasses off glasses on thing - I got lucky.
I've worn glasses all my life until recently when my optician said, "I don't know how, but your eyesight has improved to the point you no longer need glasses for driving."
But I now need them for reading ....d'oh!

    Bingo:
That is exactly what I do...(although I do not have any interest in Photography)...My main scope is pier mounted and the eyeglass holder is stored 24/7 hanging over the diagonal...

Honestly it is not a problem but I sure wish I could read the HC without my glasses but I can not..
