    Hi Rich,

The GLP is pretty easy on batteries ... depending on usage (clear skies) I usually get up to a year on a pair for the unit. Not bad at all!

Thats great rick , A year is awesome . What brand of batterys ? All i use is duracells ...They guarentee them not to leak in whatever you have . We had a fluke multimeter and a battery leaked inside the unit and messed it up . We sent it to duracell and they replaced the meter . Good company because they stand behind there products .

Default My NexStar 6SE at Prime Observing Site

    Here's a photo of my NexStar 6SE.

It has a home-made "Wing Thing" for the handbox mad from scraps of aluminium, a multi-reticle finder (MRF) and an Antares 8x50 RACI finder.

It is sitting on my patio which faces almost due South with virtually unobstructed views from the ESE to the WSW. There are only a few large oak trees and conifers which obscure some of the horizon.

Patio has external mains sockets but I tend to use my 7Ah PowerTank when observing.
