    Default Nexstar 114GT focuser upgrade?

I Have an old Nexstar 114GT which still works great. I am using it as my second scope. I have come to realize the only problem with it is the focuser is not granular enough. In the cold the grease makes things fairly tight. Is there a better focuser with maybe a better gear ratio I can use? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Probably a gso focuser might work. You'll need to do some measuring.

Compatibility of GSO Crayford Focusers with Refractor Telescopes

Not sure if the "expensive" brands will work

Unknown. Maybe someone out there has done this mod and can chime in.
