    Default Connecting Nexstar to PC



    Hey all!

    Been reading up online about connecting a Nexstar to a computer. Can you use a RS-232 adapter to usb to plug into a computer because RS-232 are too old. Diagram below.

    Telescope (ethernet connector) <---------- RS-232 ------------> RS-232 to USB Adapter <-------> USB port to Macbook.

    Yes that is how most of us connect.....i use an adapter from trendnet no issues and nexremote. Not aware though of limitations on mac n software for mac though, i use pc.

    you might, haven't tried myself but cant see why it wouldn't work. you might need parallels or just use bootcamp to get windows though, not sure if there are any mac programs for nexstar
