Default Nexstar user guide Is this book a must have

Can anyone tell me if they have read or own this book and does it help fill in the empty spots of the user manual supplied with the scope from the factory

I just got it not too long ago. It isn't bad. It's good for reference on certain things. Much of the book won't apply to you because it covers a broad selection of Celestron telescopes.

You COULD probably find much of this information on the internet but it's nice to have it all in one handy place. It makes for a good read when you're bored.

It isn't something that will likely break your bank so I think it's a decent book to own if you're a Nexstar user.

I find the best place to fill in the empty spots of user manuals is........... right here on these forums.

Honestly, I doubt I have looked at any of the manuals since I joined these forums, and if I have a question that needs answering, I usually post here before I even look at google.

The beauty of these forums is that you will get answers from people with a vast swathe of experience.

It is always nice to have a book handy, but unless it is really outstanding, I wouldn't bother. Save the money.

I purchased one and as indicated above it will provide additional useful information. Also, this site and cloudynights.com has provided me allot of good information. Purchased my first scope about 1 year ago.

Yes-- just look up your scope on that web site and READ EVERYTHING-- common issues and the fix for them is on that web site.
