I am new to astrophotography and splurged my tax refund on a Zenithstar 103.

For guiding, I went with a matching WO guidescope, which says it is specifically for 1.25” guide cams such as those by Zwo.

Last night, I managed 30 minutes to attempt to setup the guidescope, but couldn’t get focus. I added the Zwo supplied extension tube, but had to pull the cam almost all the way out of the guidescope to achieve anything close to focus.

What am I doing wrong? Should I be inserting the cam fully into the guidescope without use of the extension ring?

I emailed WO, but got a brief email saying that I could send the guidescope back for a refund. Surely, this is not customer problem solving.

Thanks,
Charlie
