Default STF 8300M on a David Levy Comet Hunter

Hello. I'm wanting to put my STF 8300M on my Explore Scientific Mak-Newt, Does anyone have experience with this combination? I was mostly wondering about balance and back focus issues? It will go on my Skywatcher EQ8, so I'm not worried about weight. Will the camera be too far from the tube. I don't think It will be solid enough if I have to use an extension tube.
    Any thoughts, or ideas?

Back focus should not be an issue as that scope was designed for AP. There have been issues with ES focusers over the years, I speak from experience, though I am not sure how this one will perform. Good luck.
This used to be a great place to hang out but now it is not safe here anymore.

    Hi mjparker68,

Did you ever get that ES David Levy Comet Hunter scope? I wonder if the focuser draw tube is in the light path when the focuser is in the down position - all the way in? That would produce diffraction spikes in images which the Mac-Newt is supposed to eliminate!
